Cope2 – THE LEGEND

1968 geboren in New York City.

Cope2 – THE LEGEND”, born 1968, New York City native. As early as the age of ten, Cope2 began tagging his name in the South Bronx, with vivid colors.

Within the following 30 years, Cope2 developed a unique artistic mixture of graffiti and painting. Mostly they were colourful and large-sized pictures on outer walls. To choose the canvas as base for his painting, opened the way to the art market for him. From this time on, paintings originated, vibrant abstract colour-landscapes mixed with his bubble letters and tags, which the enthusiastic viewer could even purchase. Since then, the artist is represented by international galleries, both in solo- and group exhibitions. Auction houses, such as Christie’s or Sotheby’s, auction off his works.

After 30 years of active creative work, his characteristic style is world-renowned, distinctive and unique. The graffiti-art-world and art scene celebrates the self-taught artist already as a legend.

Cope2 designed the cover of “Time Magazine”, created a Street-Art-Collection for Adidas and designed Converse Sneakers. He has artistically collaborated with Steiner Sports and Derek Jeter from the New York Yankees´. His work has even crossed into the vitual realm with appearances in video games such as Mark Eckos: Getting up and Rockstar Games: Grand Theft Auto IV. He curated successfully Street-Art eshibitions.

Cope2, a remarkable and striking biography. From the Bronx to a globally successful artist.
